MUST Watch Movie “DEJAVU”
Dejavu is a great movie to watch. I saw the preview and immediately it captured my attention. So I decided to buy the movie and I’ve watched it several times at home. Once the movie starts, you can’t leave your seat. The suspense captures you and each part of the movie is a must see. Denzel Washington (D. Washington) is the main actor, he is one of the best actors around. He has starred in many other movies. He has also won an Oscar for the movie Training Day. Denzel W. teams up with producer, Jerry Bruchheimer and the top dog best-hit director Tony Scott to make this mind blowing twisted movie Dejavu. D. Washington acts as an Alcohol Tobacco and Fire arms (ATF) agent named Doug Carlin. This character is very smart, sharp, imaginative and caring. However, like any other movie, agent Carlin fall in love with the main actress of the movie. Like the saying says, “When there is sweet’s, sorrow always follows.” In other words, the agent falls in love but there is a lost that accompanies it. I found this movie to be really interesting, lots of action and suspense. It also had a good story line. The acting was outstanding.

The plot of the movie is very intriguing. The beginning of the movie starts with an explosion of a cruise ship carrying over five hundred innocent civilians and Navy personnel. An hour before the explosion, a female charred body washed up on shore, indicating that she was killed and burned to make it seem as if she was killed on the cruise ship as well. Several agencies teamed up to find out what caused the explosion and why they wanted to harm so many people. ATF agent Carlin realized that in order to answer this question; they needed to determine who killed the young woman.
Not only was the movie intriguing it was filled with a lot of suspense. Each part of the movie slowly tied together. For example, in order to find out whom the young woman was, agent Carlin went to her house to see if he could find any evidence. In the trash can he saw several bloody cotton bandages, and inside the sink he found bloody T-shirts. He makes sure that he wore gloves and his fingerprints didn’t contaminate the crime scene. Next, the top-secret government lab used expensive surveillance equipment to go back in time to look at different crime scenes as way to detect any evidence that may have been over looked. Agent Carlin was recruited to work with this government group to solve the bombing case and hopefully prevent any more bombing from occurring. He wanted to catch the person who killed five hundred people including the young woman and his ATF partner. The plan was to go back in time, approximately four days before the bombing and monitor the young woman and see who she came in contact with in hopes to determine the identity of the individual responsible for killing her and causing the explosion. While working with the team, agent Carlin was very interested in how the surveillance device could shift into the past however, at the same time he was uncomfortable about spying on the young woman and invading her privacy. He knew that this was something he had to do in order to get a lead for their case. While doing the surveillance, another ATF agent calls him and told him that he did a horrible job at processing the young woman’s house because his fingerprints were all over the place. This was very confusing, how could his fingerprints be at the crime scene when he wore gloves.
Next, another part of the movie that was filled with suspense was when agent Carlin realized that the young woman could hear them listening on her even though she was already dead. He realized that the agents could go back into the past and possibly change what already happened, and save the life of the young woman and all the other victims. He came up with an idea to go back into the past and send a letter to himself, telling himself that a crime was about to be committed and he needed to stop it. However, his partner received the letter instead and decided to stop the crime. Unfortunately, he ended up getting shot by the bomber. The surveillance team realized that they could go back in time and change the sequence of events, but ultimately the same people would end up dieing.
The action was the best part of the movie. ATF Carlin realized they could go back into time and he knew that it was a big risk in doing so because people may still die. He decided he wanted to travel back in time, one day before the bombing. Once he got there, he was revived in the hospital. He stole an ambulance and rushed over to where the young woman was being held captive by the bomber. He got there just in time. He was able to prevent her death but unfortunately, he was shot in the process. They went back to her house where he tried to explain to her what was going on. She cleaned his wounds and threw his bloody clothes into the sink, and the bloody cottons and bandages in the trash. While there he realized he was experiencing Dejavu because in the beginning of the movie, he saw bloody clothes in the sink and bloody cottons inside the trash and his ATF office called him and told him that his finger prints were all over the house. Now he realized that it was his bloody clothes that he saw and finally it made sense to him why his fingerprints were found in the house. After getting cleaned up, they rushed to the ship to stop the bombing. They were able to kill the bomber and drive the car off the boat before it exploded. The young woman survived but ATF agent Carlin did not. After she was rescued, she was introduced to ATF agent Carlin and is told to give him her statement. She was confused because she thought he died. She realized that he had no ideas of what happened. The surveillance team was successful. They were able to go back into time and change the sequence of events and save over five hundred lives, including the life of the young woman.
In conclusion, Dejavu was a very interesting movie. It is not realistic because time machines don’t exist and people cannot travel back in time. What is realistic is that everyone at some point experiences Dejavu. Overall, this hour and a half movie had a lot of action and suspense. Most of all, it had a great story line. This move could be rated as a ten and is strongly recommended to everyone.
