Arigato’s Sushi Bar

            Have you ever tried something for the first time and it was the most amazing taste you’ve ever tasted? Well, that’s how I felt when I tried sushi for the first time. Before I tried sushi, I always assumed that sushi was gross and I didn’t understand how people loved eating raw food. The first time I tried sushi, it was the most amazing, flavorful, tasteful yet sweet taste I’ve ever tasted. Arigato’s is my favorite restaurant because they are friendly, the price is great, food is amazing and, even though it’s a 30 minute drive, it is well worth the drive.

            Arigato’s is located near the Arden-Arcade area which is about a 30 minute drive from Woodland. It is located next to a hookah bar which is a pretty good area, with good parking. Inside of the restaurant in the waiting area, there are 2 iPad’s that people can play with. There is also a sign that says Arigato’s Sushi Bar, which changes different colors. It is well decorated and in the middle is the sushi bar. The restaurant is spotless, and the restrooms are impeccable. Usually when I walk into a restaurants restroom, there is water around the sink and at Arigato’s there is rarely any water around the sink. There is usually music playing and they are always playing Today’s Hip Hop and R&B and the music isn’t blasting super loud like Abercrombie & Fitch, it’s at a tolerable amount of noise. There are 2 flat screens on each side of the restaurant which are always playing sports.

As soon as I walk in, we are greeted and asked how many people are in our group and have the choice to sit in a table or sushi bar. There is a sign that says “Every sushi roll is 50% for lunch and dinner.” When we are seated, we are handed our menu’s and about 2 minutes after we are greeted by our waitress and asks what we’d like to drink. After she hands our drinks, she asks if we’re ready, and if not she gives us about 5 more minutes. After she takes our order, it takes about 25 minutes on a regular basis, but if they are super slammed during dinner, it takes about 45 minutes. Quite honestly, I never notice how long the wait is because the atmosphere is so lively it distracts you a lot.

I like to usually order an appetizer which is called Edamame, which is a young soy bean that is in their pod. We have a choice to either have it regular or spicy, I hate spicy food so I usually get it regular which is a little salty and is very addicting. As soon as we get our drinks, I get my appetizer which keeps me fulfilled until I get my sushi. When I get my sushi, the flavor of the food is always consistent and never changes. Since I always order the same sushi roll it’s always the same amazing flavor. I like to order the “Howe” which consist of shrimp, crabmeat, avo, tuna, special and unagi sauce and tobiko. These ingredients put together leave an orgasm in your mouth. When we are about half way done eating our food, the waitress asks us if we need anything and then leaves us alone until we are basically done and ready to leave.

I’ve gotten very many people to come to this place because of its great service and amazing food for a great low price. I’ve tried other sushi places and quite honestly they really are overpriced, and the quality of food is just not the same as Arigato’s. There are two different sushi places in Woodland called Jinju Sushi and Osaka Sushi and it’s just not worth the price I’m paying. I prefer taking the 30 minute drive to Arigato’s than going to eat in town.

Overall, I would give this place an A+ from an A-F. Everything is perfect about this place. I can’t compare any other sushi place to another one it just isn’t possible. I’ve gone out to eat at very many different places at this place is on the top of my list. I went from thinking sushi is disgusting because of its raw food, and now I eat fish eggs and raw food. I’ve learned not to judge a book from its cover, and not be so closed minded when it comes to trying different types of food.

I would recommend anyone to come to this sushi bar and they would probably have the same experience as I did. There are 3 locations two in Sacramento in the Arden-Arcade Area and in Elk Grove and one in Roseville. I can almost guarantee that anyone will have the same quality food and great service. Their hours are from 11AM-12PM which is pretty nice because if you’re craving it and it’s getting late, you can go in and get your sushi craving satisfied.
